KNAPP Anne Margaret (Webster) Knapp, age 88, of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the Masonic Health Care Center in Wallingford. Born and raised in Vernon to the late A. Kenneth and Gladys (Hibbard) Webster. Anne attended Katherine Gibbs School in New York City and has worked in many secretarial positions over the years with the last being for the Town of Stratford. Married to the late William B Knapp Jr. from 1946 until his death in 1995, they lived in Bethlehem, Thomaston, and moved to Stratford in 1959. Anne enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking for her family. She enjoyed sailing and many good friends at the Housatonic Boat Club in Stratford where the family were members for many many years. Upon retirement she and her husband, Bill, traveled to many places including their favorite destination, Scotland. They also were avid volunteers at Booth Memorial Park in Stratford where they did many things including maintaining the large antique loom and demonstrating weaving to countless school children who toured the park on school trips. Anne was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church of Stratford. Survivors include her devoted sons, William Knapp and wife Patricia of Kennesaw, Ga., and Andrew Knapp and his wife Cynthia of Stratford; five beloved grandchildren Rebecca Knapp of Millsboro, Del., Amy Montrasio, James Knapp, Bruce Knapp and Frederick Knapp all of Stratford; a cherished great-grandson Miles Montrasio. A graveside service will take place on Monday, April 25th at 1 p.m. in Union Cemetery Stratford. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Masonic HCC or the Masonic Home Health and Hospice, both of Wallingford.
