Ruth Lawrence, age 77, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010.She was born on Aug. 5, 1932, in Baxter, Tenn., to Thomas and Addie Birdwell Roberson. Mrs. Lawrence was Baptist by faith and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved growing flowers, cooking, and being outside. She also enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter, Linda Yaun. Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Tom Lawrence; one son, David Lawrence, both of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Debbie Potter and husband Dewight of Hanover, Ind.; three sisters, Hazel Strickland of DeFuniak Springs, Dorothy Nell Logsdon and husband Marvin of Jamestown, Tenn., and Irabelle Rice and husband Ed of Muncie, Ind.; three grandchildren, Joseph, Reba and Mary Potter; and numerous nieces and nephews.A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road, DeFuniak Springs, with Dr. James Johnson and the Rev.
