Ann Maher NeillOn September 29, 2010, Ann Marie Neill went to be with her husband, W. Dean Neill, her brother, Jere L. Maher, and her parents Marie & Mooney Maher. She is survived by her three children, Jere Neill (Wisetta) Pontiac, MI; Diane Neill Bender, Pensacola, FL; and Kelly Neill (Ellen) Commerce, MI; Three grandchildren Sarah, Michael, and Jere Jr. Ann was born on May 16,1928 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and after completing 2 years of college, she married Dean Neill on December 10, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska. They honeymooned in Hot Springs, Arkansas.Ann was always civic-minded. She served as Chairperson of the Community Chest in Park Forest, Illinois; served on the Board of Directors of the Y.W.C.A. in Cleveland, Ohio; Leader and committee women Girl and Boy Scouts, Overland Park, Kansas; Volunteer Manager/Coordinator of the Providence Hospital Gift Shop in Southfield, Michigan; Chairperson Babe Zaharias Golf Tournament, and the American Cancer Society Gala Ball in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Ann & Dean retired to Pensacola in May 1983.
Ann was a Charter member of the Don Tristan Deluna Quester Chapter established May 1997. She was a member of the Sweet Bay Garden Club and volunteer staff coordinator managing the Baptist Hospital gift shop 1983-2001. She was on the Baptist Hospital and AFHVA Boards.Memorial Mass, September 29, 2011, 8 AM at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Moreno Street, Pensacola, Florida.
