Thornton, Anita Elizabeth ThompsonJan. 17, 1928 - Jan. 12, 2010Anita Elizabeth Thompson Thornton, 81, of Snead Island, died Jan. 12, 2010.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, with funeral services to follow in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Palmetto. Committal services will follow at the Palmetto City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel, Bradenton. Survivors include her loving husband, Gradie of Palmetto; children Teresa Gambill of Palmetto, Roy Thornton of Palmetto and Cindy Sullivan of Shelbyville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; a sister, Esther Whiteside of Cashiers, N.C.; and a brother, Howard Thompson of St. Petersburg.
