<!-- FH = Asheville Area Alternative --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Allen Davidson WilliamsonAsheville - Allen Davidson Williamson, 90, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Allen and Mary Manly Williamson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Latham Williamson. He was a graduate of Christ School in Arden NC, and an alumnus of both the University of North Carolina where he received his undergrad, and the University of Illinois where he received his master's degree. During WW II, he proudly enlisted and served in the US Army Air Corps and was part of the China, India, and Byrma theaters. As a geologist, he was employed with the Kentucky Geological Survey, and was successfully self-employed for many years. Upon retirement, he moved to the Haw Creek area of Asheville where he lived for ten years with his best friend, his canine companion, Champ.Surviving is his daughter, Jean Latham Williamson Staff of Nashville, TN; sisters, Jean Webb of Asheville, NC and Ann Beasley of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Marianna Staff and David Clement; and three wonderful great-grandchildren.Monetary expressions of sympathy may be addressed to the Charles George VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
