Allen 'Buddy' ThomasCotacoFuneral service for Allen "Buddy" Thomas, age 91, of Cotaco will be today at 1 p.m. at the Cotaco United Methodist Church with Reverand John Smith and Kenneth Roberts officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the Red Oak Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.Mr. Thomas was born June 14, 1922 in Morgan County to James Worth Thomas and Bernice Prince Thomas. He was a lifelong member of Cotaco United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, an avid quail hunter, loved Auburn football, woodworking, carpentry and farming. He was retired from Thiokol after 31 years of service.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Glyn and Bill Thomas; and one sister, Lucille Thomas.Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Thomas; two sons, Larry Thomas (Linda) of Huntsville, Randy Thomas of Cotaco; one daughter, Shannon Stinson (Scotty) of Cotaco; five grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Hunter Stinson, Colton Stinson, Kyle Thomas; and four great-grandchildren.His grandsons, Steve Edmonson and Kenneth Roberts will serve as pallbearers.
