Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Dalton James 94 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 9 2004 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. Brent Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mrs. James died Sunday June 6 2004 at Maplewood Health Care. She was born in Rienzi Mississippi daughter of the late Robert DeWitt and Minnie Pearl Grisham Dalton and was educated in the schools there. She along with her late husband operated a grocery in Corinth MS for several years. Mrs. James moved to Jackson to make her home in 1981 after the death of her husband. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church. She preceded in death by her husband John T. 'Pete' James; a sister Marie Dalton and a brother R.D. Dalton. Survivors include a niece Patricia Ron Wells of Jackson and three nephews DeWitt Dalton of Jackson Buddy James of Oneida TN and Peter James of Maryville TN. The family expresses special thanks and gratitude to the staff of Maplewood Health Care. Pallbearers to serve are Buddy James Peter James Rob Johnson Del Johnson Tim Dalton and Ashley Dalton.
