THOMSON, Alfreda Marjorie - Passed away in Toronto on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the age of 94. Alfreda was born on July 6, 1920, the youngest daughter of the late Bertha and Alfred Heakes. Alfreda had two sisters, the late Norma Heakes and the late Hazel and her husband the late Murray Davis. Hazel and Murray''s two darling children Marianne and Donnie succumbed to Cystic Fibrosis at a very early age. Alfreda was married 32 years to the late Mervyn Thomson. She leaves behind the most wonderful step- family and five beautiful grandchildren. Alfreda is survived by her children Barbara and husband Werner of Harbour Main, Newfoundland; Joan and husband Leith from Calgary, Alberta; and David and wife Gisele of Toronto, Ontario. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Stefan Wieland and wife Linda in St. John''s, Newfoundland; Graham Nagy and wife Chelsey, Emily Nagy in Calgary, Alana Thomson and Michael Thomson of Toronto, Ontario. Memorial visitation at the PAUL O''CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy) for family and close friends on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 12 noon until the time of the Service in our Chapel at 1 p.m. Private Interment will take place on Friday, June 19, 2015 for family only.
