Albert Edmond Laliberte Jr. of Attleboro, an ice cream shop owner, died Thursday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. He was 69. Mr. Laliberte was born and raised in Central Falls, R.I., where he was also educated. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Laliberte owned and operated the former Carvel/Al's Ice Cream Shoppe in North Attleboro for 23 years prior to retiring in 2001. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E.-Attleboro Elks Lodge No. 1014. An avid boater and fisherman, Mr. Laliberte was also a New England Patriots fan. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Bonin); three daughters, Corinne (Lonardo) Small of Massachusetts, Eileen (Lonardo) Carreau of Florida and Michelle Petronio of Massachusetts; one son, Paul Lonardo of Virginia; two sisters, Murielle of Nevada and Annette DiBisceglia of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. John the Evangelist Church, Attleboro. Burial will be private.
