ANN (COSMUS) CAHILL - BURLINGTON - Ann (Cosmus) Cahill, 74, of Burlington, passed away June 8, 2011. She was born in Connecticut, April 18, 1937, to John and Frances Cosmus. Ann attended Mount Ida College in Virginia and then went to work for Hartford Insurance Company where she met her future husband, Charles Cahill. They were married on Jan. 3, 1959. They enjoyed 52 years together and they were best friends. One of the more recent highlights was when they were able to go to Italy together. Ann had a passion for sculpting, skiing, gardening and family. She had a heart to serve people, including her many years of service with Howard Mental Health, as well as her volunteer work at JUMP and Special Olympics. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Frances Cosmus. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; her two sons, Charles Cahill, Jr. and Gary Cahill; her three grandchildren, Angela Macdonald, Liza and Alex Cahill; her three brothers, John, Tom, and Rick Cosmus; and many extended family and friends. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Burlington, with time to share remembrances and fellowship to follow. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to JUMP (Joint Urban Ministry Program), 38 So. Winooski Ave., Burlington, VT 05401.
